Parsons is now hiring a Fisheries and Aquatic Specialist for our rapidly expanding portfolio of environmental projects.

Qualifications:

- Graduation with a degree or diploma from a recognized university or college in a natural or physical science with specialization in fisheries biology, aquatic biology, ecology, or another related discipline;
- Successful completion of MTO fisheries Protocol Training;
- Valid Ontario Electrofishing Certification; and
- Completion of Erosion and Sediment Control Monitoring Training.

**Experience**:

- Demonstrated related work experience;
- Demonstrated experience in conducting fisheries inventories and habitat assessments;
- Demonstrated experience in conducting impact assessments;
- Demonstrated experience in planning and designing fish and fish habitat mitigation and compensation measures;
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal and provincial legislation, policies and procedures for fish and fish habitat in Ontario;
- Demonstrated experience in monitoring construction activities in and around fish habitat, (e.g. identifying risk situations, recommending corrective actions/solutions); and

Parson’s Ecological Services Group works both in support of other internal groups (primarily transportation/highways and stormwater management) and also as an independent unit completing ecological assessments, SAR mitigation planning and monitoring, fish and wildlife salvage and relocation, and environmental inspection duties directly for various clients.
