Siemens Farms Ltd. is a family-owned egg production farm in Abbotsford, BC, dedicated to high standard poultry farming. We take pride in producing high-quality eggs while maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare and operational excellence. We are seeking a motivated **Farm Operations Coordinator** to support daily farm activities and develop into a leadership role in farm management.
**Position Overview**
The **Farm Operations Coordinator** will assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the farm, including flock care, egg collection, facility maintenance, and team coordination. This role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual looking to grow into a farm management position.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Oversee daily farm operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficiency.
- Monitor flock health, egg production, and implement biosecurity measures.
- Assist with egg collection as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of production, inventory, and operational data.
- Coordinate farm workers' tasks and schedules to ensure productivity.
- Support equipment and facility maintenance, identifying and reporting issues.
- Ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations, food safety protocols, and industry standards.
- Manage supplies inventory, ensuring farm remains stocked with essentials.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements and assist in implementing best practices.
**Qualifications & Skills**
- Experience in agriculture, animal science, farm operations, or a related field a preference.
- Hands-on experience in poultry farming or egg production is an asset.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on farm environment.
- Leadership potential with a willingness to take on increasing responsibilities.
- Knowledge of biosecurity measures and farm safety protocols (or willingness to learn).
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and farm management software.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
