**Job Description: Wine Tasting/Bar Server**

Your key goal is to provide a memorable experience for all guests enjoying the patio and tasting room.

Making appropriate recommendations of our wines by asking questions to understand the guest’s palate and preferences. Understand and be comfortable speaking about our wines (training provided).

Making every guest feel comfortable and relaxed for the duration of their stay.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Greeting every guest who enters the tasting room or patio, not only your assigned tables.

Giving every guest an exceptional experience, ensuring that they will want to come back. Personalizing each experience and maintaining a positive and professional demeanor under pressure.

Assisting other servers and prep room team when necessary to ensure consistent guest service for all winery visitors.

Managing larger groups efficiently through attentive service and precise order taking.

Maintaining positive guest relations by handling feedback efficiently and professionally.

Encouraging retail wine sales following tasting experiences. Always assisting the guest in their wine selection and cash out.

Maintaining a positive demeanor in a fast-paced environment.

Conducting tastings as well as food pairing experiences in a friendly and educational manner.

Checking in, seating, closing and sanitizing tables & other surfaces as required.

Ensuring repeat guests are in our system who are in our system are tracked and those who aren’t are added in order to better assist them in future visits.

Ensuring guests are aware of all promotions, wine clubs, upcoming events etc.

Ensuring your workspace is always clean, sanitized and presentable. Stocked bar with glasses, wines, sanitizer etc. at the beginning and end of each shift.

Last but certainly not least a TEAM mentality at all times.

General cleaning duties.

Other duties as required.

**Qualifications**:
Previous serving experience considered an asset

Minimum 1 year hospitality, tourism or customer service

Smart Serve certified

**What we Offer**

Base pay + tips and staff discounts.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 8-20 per week

**Salary**: $16.50 per hour

Schedule:

- Every Weekend
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
- Weekends only

Supplemental pay types:

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON L0S 1J0: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Hospitality or Customer Service: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Smart Serve Certification (required)
