**Position Summary**: This position assists the Shift Supervisor with the coordination of daily production demands and workflow.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain housekeeping standards on the shop floor
- Train & assess new employees on proper use of machines and equipment
- Work with QA and Operators to resolve quality issues
- Recommend corrective action for performance or trouble shooting production issues
- Set up machines and perform first offs
- Create production procedures and set up sheets for approval, review for continuous improvement opportunities
- Control material movement from RAW materials to completed parts to ship
- Maintain shop supplies required for production, notify appropriate persons of shortages
- Trouble shoot, report and perform minor maintenance on machines
- Assist in time studies for production standards
- Run production jobs meeting or exceeding time standards
- Back-up for supervisor during absences.
- Effectively communicate with all employees, supervisors, and managers on daily production demands
- Assist with continuous improvement by initiating ideas, motivating employees, implementing improvements

**Additional Responsibilities**: Enforce safety practices and other duties as assigned.

**Qualification / profile / Competencies**:
**Education**:

- Secondary school diploma
- CNC Machining courses (blueprint reading etc.)

**Experience**:

- 2-3 years of CNC and/ machining experience
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience

**Specifications**:

- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to lead and motivate others
- Detail oriented

**Working Conditions & Environment**: Mainly production floor; exposed to seasonal temperatures

**Physical demands of position**: Standing, walking, bending

**Extent of Public Contact**: 3rd party contractors, drivers

**Supervisory Duties**: Machine Operators in the absence of the shift supervisor
