We're a growing medium-sized manufacturing company looking for a dedicated **Warehouse & Inventory Specialist** to join our team in Sturgeon County, Alberta.
In this multifaceted role, you'll be instrumental in ensuring the efficient flow of materials throughout our facility, from the moment they arrive to when they're ready for production. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining accurate inventory, optimizing our warehouse, and supporting our production team to meet their goals.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Shipping & Receiving**:
- Receive, inspect, and document all incoming materials and supplies accurately.
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
- Coordinate with carriers for pickups and deliveries.
- Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments against purchase orders and sales orders.
- Resolve any discrepancies with suppliers or customers in a timely manner.
**Inventory Management**:
- Maintain accurate inventory records using our inventory management system.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with physical inventory counts.
- Organize and maintain the warehouse, ensuring efficient use of space and easy accessibility of materials.
- Identify and report any damaged, defective, or missing inventory.
- Implement and maintain efficient storage solutions.
**Production Staging**:
- Pick and stage materials and components accurately and efficiently for production orders.
- Ensure all necessary materials are available at the production line when needed.
- Communicate proactively with the production team regarding material availability or potential delays.
- Return unused materials to inventory and ensure proper documentation.
**Qualifications**:
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, or a related field is a plus
- Proven experience (2+ years) in a similar role within a manufacturing or warehousing environment
- Strong understanding of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehousing best practices
- Proficiency with inventory management & ERP software and good computer skills (Google Suite)
- Ability to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment (certification required)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a high attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods
- A proactive and problem-solving attitude
