Nasittuq provides Operation & Maintenance services for the North Warning System (NWS). The NWS is a joint Canada and United States early-warning radar system with 47 sites located in Northern Canada; a Control Centre and Support Centre located in North Bay, ON and a Contract Management Office located in Ottawa, ON.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Reporting to the Contracts Manager, the Jr. Contract Specialist is responsible for the continuance of daily operations and providing support to the Contracts Department, performing contract/subcontract administration, procurement and pricing functions during the pre-award, award, and post-award phases of the procurement process. This includes receiving and tracking departmental correspondence, negotiations, subcontract generation, contract close-out, file maintenance and interaction with multiple managers and external customers.

Research, analyze, coordinate, develop and maintain documentation
- Ensure procurement transactions and documentation comply with internal policies and procedures, contract requirements, and Government regulations
- Review and process procurement documentation
- Provide assistance in coordinating, developing and producing proposals
- Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive files and documents
- Support the preparation of contract enquiry documentation, including expediting scopes of work, terms and conditions of contract and enquiry documentation
- Monitor current status of contracts and update the Contracts register
- Monitor actions and deadlines to ensure all assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner
- Provide timely, courteous and informative telephone dialogue
- Provide administrative support duties including scanning, copying, filing, etc.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline and three (3) years of administrative/office experience, or a combination or education, training and experience
- Knowledge of contracting procedures is preferred
- Strong administration and organization skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential materials
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent research and reporting skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments
