Today the RHF has become a catalytic platform to connect people, causes and organizations which - while they will exist for differing purposes - share a common belief in and commitment to the potential of Canada.
The Research Assistant, Indigenous Education will support initiatives in the Rideau Hall Foundation’s Learning Portfolio including the Indigenous Teacher Education Initiative. This summer student position will provide valuable paid work experience to one post-secondary student studying in the fields of education, Indigenous studies, research and/or program and event management.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide research support for the development of the Indigenous Teacher Education Initiative.
- Support the RHF’s efforts to listen and learn, as well as support the allyship roles being established in Indigenous teacher education across Canada.
- Provide coordination and support to the National Advisory Committee on Indigenous Teacher Education.
**QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES**
- Be between 18 and 30 years of age and have ssuccessfully completed at least one year of post
- secondary studies.
- Experience and/or demonstrated interest in issues related to Indigenous education, Indigenous studies, community Development, or related areas.
- Experience in research and/or project management, program management and/or and event management would be an asset.
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills required.
- Proficiency in French and/or fluency in any Indigenous language would be an asset.
- Experience using databases and CRM systems would be an asset.
- Ability to collaborate and work both within teams and independently.
- Demonstrated flexibility and initiative in completing tasks.
**WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT**
- The RHF is a dynamic work environment that values collaboration, creativity and trying new things.
- Flexibility to work select evening and weekends as required.
**Salary**: $21.00 per hour, 37.5hrs per week.

**RESPONSABILITÉS**
- Fournir un soutien à la recherche pour le développement de l’Initiative de formation des enseignant.e.s autochtones.
- Appuyer les efforts d’écoute et d’apprentissage de la FRH ainsi que les rôles de soutien établis dans la formation des enseignant.e.s autochtones partout au Canada.
- Assurer la coordination et le soutien du Comité consultatif national sur la formation des enseignant.e.s autochtones.
**QUALIFICATIONS ET COMPÉTENCES**
- Être âgé.e entre 18 et 30 ans et avoir terminé avec succès au moins une année d’études postsecondaires.
- Expérience ou intérêt démontré pour les questions liées à l’éducation autochtone, aux études autochtones, au développement communautaire ou à des domaines connexes.
- Une expérience en recherche ou en gestion de projet, en gestion de programme ou en gestion d’événements constitue un atout.
- Solides compétences en communication écrite et verbale en anglais requises.
- La maîtrise du français ou de toute langue autochtone constitue un atout.
