**Yard Operator Role - $35/hour, Monday-Friday**

**Position Overview**

Maintain a safe and healthy environment, operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner, and wear appropriate PPE as determined by the company for the safe operation of equipment required for the general housekeeping of the plant.

**Key Duties and responsibilities**
- Operate mobile equipment in a safe and effective manner
- Conduct daily inspections of assigned equipment, document before and after state and report any deficiencies to the supervisor
- Work within other departments when holding a relief position
- Removal and replacement of refractory in Kiln
- Properly inspect and operate Hy Vac.
- Snow removal and salt spreading as required
- Operate ball sorting machine
- Report any deficiencies to the supervisor
- Housekeeping duties as assigned
- Any other duties as assigned when not required under normal classification

**Working Conditions and Physical Requirements**
- Working outdoors at varied temperatures and weather conditions
- Working indoors in varied conditions (ie. hot noisy, dusty)
- Exposure to extreme heat
- Working in confined spaces
- Working at heights
- Operating jackhammer
- Shoveling debris
- Lifting up to 70lbs

**Qualifications**
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills to be able to interact with other departments.
- Ability to operate various mobile equipment as required (i.e Bobcats, sweepers, small loaders, etc.)
- Must have a valid “G” class driver’s license

**Work Environment**
- This position is based across the plant
