Reporting to the National Quality Director, the **_Regional Clinical Lead; Quality, Patient Safety & Professional Practice_** assists the Director and regional Clearpoint Health Network (CHN) sites with planning, implementing, coordinating and monitoring quality, patient safety and performance improvement programs, with a focus on maintaining an environment of continuous improvement. The Regional Lead provides remote and onsite support for clinical and administrative leaders and staff at CHN sites in advancing a culture of safety, investigation of safety events and promotion of evidence-based best practice in their day-to-day operations.

**Position**
- Roles are hybrid, combining remote work with regular on-site presence at CHN sites within the Regional Leads assigned region. Some travel is a requirement of this role.
- Collaborates with CHN team members to develop, implement, and evaluate clinical service outcomes and performance; prioritize quality initiatives based on regional functions, needs and performance measurement system; plan, develop and implement Patient Safety and Quality Improvement education, initiatives and materials including evaluation and PS&QI sustainment tools.
- Ensures regional CHN quality and safety activities are in alignment with accreditation requirements. Provide accreditation education to leaders and staff as required. Leads site or regional level actions to respond to recommendations arising from accreditation surveys, and to address new accreditation requirements.
- Leads retrospective (e.g.: Root Cause Analysis) and/or prospective reviews (e.g. Failure Modes Effect Analysis) necessitated by safety events, critical incidents or process issues related to the site(s); monitors site staff and physician perceptions of safety, risk and quality improvement.
- Proactively educates staff regarding regulatory issues, new standards and/or guidelines, and safety, quality, and risk management activities
- Proactively identifies knowledge or practice gaps and educates staff on best practices, with ongoing monitoring of the outcome
- Functions as a Professional Practice support to leaders and front-line staff within their assigned region
- Contributes to continuous quality improvement of the regional sites by identifying, evaluating and supporting new initiatives, developments and trends in Patient Safety and & Quality Improvement (PS&QI).

**Qualifications**
- Current registration in a relevant clinical profession, with a strong preference for Perioperative RN experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of clinical practice in a relevant area.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Administration, related health discipline or other relevant area; Master’s preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a leadership role, such as Charge Nurse, Professional Practice Leader/Educator, Quality and Safety, or Clinical Manager
- Knowledge and experience in Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement, Patient Safety and Accreditation standards required. Working knowledge of legal, ethical, and clinical issues associated with standard of care practices, and Accreditation Canada requirements.
- Knowledge in relevant Surgical Services professional standards required, including ORNAC, CSA, and NAPANc
- Familiarity with Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) standards and processes
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with a systems perspective when developing viable solutions to complex problems.
- A willingness and capacity to pursue continuing education to address knowledge gaps
- Nurse Educator experience is considered an asset
- Surgical Services management experience is considered an asset
- National and/or international experience is considered an asset
- Fluently bilingual is considered an asset
