Reporting to the Team Lead, Accessibility Supports, Casual Instructional Assistants are adaptable, innovative individuals who provide support online and/or in-person to students who encounter barriers to accessibility. This important role works closely with students, Accessibility Services colleagues, and Instructors. We bridge barriers to accessibility in a professional, competent, inclusive fashion; facilitate a variety of learning modalities and assistive technologies; and provide/promote equitable access to information, primarily relating to academics but also to other aspects of the college experience. This position supports students with their classroom work and learning activities. Instructional Assistants may also perform other duties like serving as a reader or scribe for students writing exams.

**HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE**
- Provide respectful, inclusive 1-1 support (virtually &/or in-person) to students encountering barriers to accessibility and experiencing functional impacts related to disability(ies).
- Contribute to case conferencing of students registered with Accessibility Services.
- Contribute to growth of Accessibility Services through team meetings and discussions.
- Perform administrative, operational, and promotional duties as assigned.

**WHAT YOU BRING**
- Minimum two-year post-secondary diploma or a degree in a related in a related field.
- 3+ years' related experience.
- Previous experience in an adult educational setting, post-secondary preferred.
- Ability to follow and implement best practice guidelines.
- Exemplary professionalism and decision-making skills and the ability to utilize these skills in a variety of settings.

**SALARY**:$26.06/hr-$34.55/hr biweekly**reflective upon what you bring, AKA your education and experience. This is an AUPE role, the AUPE Collective Agreement Appendix A outlines how pay is determined.
