**SUMMARY**:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Corporate Administration, the Human Resources Manager will oversee the full scope of Human Resources objectives that will provide an employee-oriented high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, standards, and goal attainment. This includes the efficient administration and management of recruiting, employee relations, orientation, training and development, and policy and procedure development.
The Human Resources Manager provides guidance and support to HR staff to ensure a positive working environment. The Human Resources Manager must possess exceptional communication, organizational, and work within the policies and procedures established by the Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensures Corporation follows the Employment Standards Act, Canadian Human Right Association, Ministry of Labour, and Occupational Health & Safety Act as legally required.
- Maintains and enhances organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee and HR policies, programs and practices.
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation.
- Audits HR practices and policies to ensure legal compliance and assess risks.
- Acts as liaison between senior management, government agencies and outside organizations.
- Ensures HR programs align with organizational goals.
- Develops recruitment and retention programs/initiatives.
- Maintains coordination of group benefits and pension renewals annually.
- Oversees, evaluates and motivates the Human Resources Team.
- Assesses and monitors workplace culture.
- Acts as a Change Agent for organizational effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with pay equity and any other required legislation.
- Ensures HR Programs align with organizational goals.
- Oversees SNGRDC Committees, such as the Crew Quality, Health and Wellness and Health and Safety.
- Maintains compliance with established HR budget.
- Acts as a business partner to help address operational issues within the business departments.
- Performs other work-related duties as may be required.

**EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE**
Minimum Requirements:
- Successful completion of post-secondary education in Human Resources Management and/or five (5) year of work-related experience.
- CHRP or CHRL Designation is an asset.
- Experience managing staff of 2-5 individuals.
- Computer skills and knowledge of software such as: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and HCM software or other relevant programs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintain confidentiality; ability to handle the public with tact and discretion with a pleasing personality.
- Must exhibit a high degree of initiative to work independently and can organize the workload so all deadlines are met.
- Must possess valid driver’s license.
- Must pass a police record check.
- Willingness to learn, accept change, and adapt to new ideas, business concepts, and cultures.
**IMPACT OF ERROR**
Error in judgement may lead to loss of credibility, poor public relations, public confidence, and misinformation resulting in embarrassment and potential liability to the Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation.
