Early Childhood Educator (Part-Time) - minimum 20 hours per week

**Salary**: $15.00 - $18.29/hour + associated provincial hourly wage top up

What qualifications are we looking for?
- Alberta Early Childhood Educator Certification - Level 1, 2 or 3;
- Experience working with children aged 12months - 6 years in a licensed child care setting;
- A positive attitude and collaborative teamwork approach;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including basic computer literacy;
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR C certification (CPR recertified within the last 12 months);
- Evidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search;
- Three professional references.

This position is permanent part-time with a guaranteed 20 hours/week. The hours will typically be mid-day, but they may vary to meet area need. Additional hours may be available to meet presenting centre needs. The YMCA Child Care Development Centre is open 7am-6pm, Monday - Friday. Additional hours to meet training requirements will also be scheduled

What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?

Reporting to the Child Care Supervisor, the PT Early Childhood Educator will:

- Ensure the delivery of excellent service by identifying and responding in a professional and timely manner to the needs and wants of children and parents/guardians;
- Support young children with social and self-regulation skill development, personal care needs and to achieve developmental milestones;
- Plan and facilitate intentional, developmentally appropriate play-based learning activities;
- Maintain health and safety measures including child safety & protection standards, health management and the provision of a safe and clean environment;
- Establish and maintain effective communication standards with stakeholders and professionally represent YMCA Calgary both internally and with the broader community;
- Engage with, and support as appropriate, YMCA initiatives.
