The Registered Practical Nurse in the Dialysis Unit, in collaboration with the Registered Nurse, is responsible for the comprehensive, coordinated and individualized care of patients with chronic kidney disease requiring hemodialysis treatments. The Registered Practical Nurse is an active member of the multidisciplinary team that provides care to the patient and support to their family.

The satellite unit of Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital regional dialysis program provides dialysis treatment and support to patients receiving hemodialysis who reside in the North Simcoe area. The satellite unit is a nine-station dialysis unit at 611 Prospect Boulevard.

Job Requirements:
**QUALIFICIATIONS**
- Registered Practical Nurse in good standing
- Minimum of one (1) year hemodialysis experience required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of medical/surgical experience within the past five (5) years; working at full scope.
- Successful completion of a Physical Assessment Course, Medication Administration course, and Aseptic Principles certificate required (exempt if newly graduated within the past four (4) years).
- Essential duties require ability to lift and move patients, pushing, pulling, bending & stooping.
- Demonstrated ability to function efficiently and effectively as a team member.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attendance record and a proven commitment to professional development, as well as to the Mission of the Hospital
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history

**COMPENSATION**

**HOURS OF WORK**
