Duties & Responsibilities:

- Prepare and support the creation of month-end closing journal entries, reporting system adjustments, system reconciliations, and end-user reports
- Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
- Validate the integrity of data sets interfaced between our billing systems, reporting systems, and ERP systems
- Assist with maintaining, updating, and documenting internal control policies and procedures within the Finance Department
- Liaise with internal/external auditors on SOX processes and controls relating to sales
- Ensure adherence to key and non-key GDS Revenue SOX controls

MUST HAVE qualifications:

- University Degree (Business or Accounting preferred)
- 2-4 years of experience in a finance/accounting or other relevant experience
- A strong team player with excellent communication (written & verbal) and influencing skills
- Innovative and results oriented
- Experience with prioritizing work
- Willing to work in a high-pressure environment and with the flexibility to work overtime to meet deadlines
- Technically proficient, with an attention to detail
- Analytical mindset.
- Team player with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships, while demonstrating a high level of cooperation and mutual respect
- Proficient Microsoft Excel user
- Curious by nature

NICE TO HAVE qualifications:

- Relevant experience working with a large company
- Relevant experience in the Energy/Utility sectors

Working Conditions:

- Office environment; little to no travel
- May be required to work overtime during peak financial periods (Monthly and quarterly close)

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Chatham-Kent, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Chatham-Kent, ON
