**Skills and Abilities**
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization
- Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume.
- Ability to deal with foreign exchange transactions in an accounting system
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Keen desire to learn about the operations of the company, in a newly regulated industry
- Uphold confidentiality, ethics, and demonstrate a high level of discretion at all times
- Business acumen to oversee the budgetary control issues, project management and continuous improvement initiatives of the company.
- Advanced computer skills: competency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Powerpoint), SharePoint and other financial ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics GP, QuickBooks, Ample Organic) and other investment analyzing tools.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.

**Role and Responsibilities**
- Analyze and evaluate financial risks, prepare financial forecasts, financing scenarios and other documents concerning capital management, and written reports and recommendations. (e.g., inflation, interest rates, exchange rates, rates of return, depreciation and/or investments.)
- Identify trends and developments in competitive environments and present findings.
- Prepare forecasts and analysis of trends in production, finance, general business conditions, and other related areas.
- Analyze internal financial information (e.g., profit loss accounts, financial statements, working capital, costs, prices, expenses, revenues, rates of return, etc.)
- Create, interpret, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensure financial information has been recorded accurately.
- Develop and prepare financial plans and budgets.
- Create financial models to measure and forecast potential impacts of financial transactions, corporate development activities, and forward-looking financial and business-related projects.
- Prepare, coordinate, document financial analysis projects such as financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, working capital, and investments.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce or Business Administration
- CPA, CMA or MBA designation an asset
- 3 - 5 years experience as a professional financial analyst or auditor with strong financial acumen in budgeting, forecasting, analyzing investments, asset valuation or accounting
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and generally accepted auditing standards, as well as systems analysis and the principles, design, and procedural methods used in big data analysis.
- Strong demonstrated administrative, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Technical proficiency with Microsoft tools, advanced Excel skills. Experience with BI tools and dashboard creation a plus.
