Business and Operations Analyst

The Business and Operations Analyst is a dynamic blended position which will support production and finance departments concurrently. Planning the production of a range of animal food products on one or more production lines, so that optimum utilization of production is obtained and the products are available on time; and while executing decisions regarding Finance & Control and Business matters, with investigations, analyses, reports, presentations and advice.

Inventory Controls & Management
- Monitor the planning and production (daily) to identify potential inventory control risks & reconciliation of materials used; consult with production management about (potential) disruptions and possible corrective actions
- Adapt and implement changes in the planning, and discuss the consequences of possible planning alternatives with the superior, production and sales
- Verify inventory levels of finished product and establish an optimal balance between customer and stock orders
- Conduct regular cycle counts of finished goods, packaging and other consumable materials and investigate any variances from ERP system inventory levels
- Conduct annual inventory counts of finished goods, packaging and other consumable materials and investigate any variances from ERP system inventory levels
- Aiding Master Scheduler and/or Manufacturing Analyst in arranging of the orders for production, taking into account specified delivery times, available machine capacity, changeover
- Provide suggestions on improvements to inventory control processes and work with operations staff to execute on better inventory and warehouse management systems

Data collection and insight generation
- Uses data and analysis in problem identification (bottlenecks, efficiencies, insights, etc.) continuously searching for data sources to conduct analysis valuable to Nutreco, continuously enhancing the problem analysis / identification in terms of relevance, quality and insights, based on business requirements
- Discovers ways in which business value can be drawn from analysis and develops trusted information with true insights. Visualizes the analysis and transforms the analysis into valuable and relevant insights for business.

Planning & Control cycle
- Communicating guidelines and instructions, and creating templates to facilitate the planning and reporting processes
- Participate in the financial review process between the OpCo(s), Division and Nutreco Corporate
- Performing financial analysis of actual performance compared to plan and last year
- Preparing management information, such as monthly reports and presentations on various topics
- Assisting in the preparation and analysis of annual and half year figures

Financial Analysis / Analytics
- Conducts and merges complex internal and external analysis. Carries out structural and ad hoc analysis and advanced analytics in order to transform data and research into useful information, which offer useful insights and recommendations to the designated business area.
- Develops and provides ad hoc financials analysis that add value to the business and contribute to the delivery of the Divisional strategy.
- Provides assistance to functional counterparts in the OpCo / Division as required on matter involving cost determination issues, valuation, distribution of overhead, treatment of costs and product pricing
- May conduct special studies and analysis such as cost impact of proposed changes in facilities, systems and processes

**Qualifications**
- Relevant technological knowledge (ERP)
- Inventory management experience including inventory investigations & controls (accuracy/discrepancies)
- Strong analytical skills & ability to read financial statements (P/L)
