**The Regional Municipality of York is recruiting for the position of Chief Administrative Officer**

**Chief Administrative Officer Roles and Responsibilities**
The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), appointed by Council and reporting to the Regional Chair and Council, directs and coordinates the general management of business affairs of York Region, an organization with a budget of $3.96 billion. The CAO plays a crucial role, overseeing the administration and providing strategic direction to the Senior Management Team. This team is responsible for advising Council and its Boards, as well as ensuring the successful delivery of an array of essential programs, projects, and services provided to our residents and businesses.

The CAO leads the delivery of high-quality services to meet the ever-changing needs of the community, while ensuring fiscal responsibility. These services encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including community and health services, public works, corporate services, finance, legal and court services, as well as internal facing initiatives focused on our people, equity, and culture. The CAO's guidance ensures that these services are efficiently managed and aligned with the Region's vision, mission, and values.
