The Homework Help Facilitator is part of a team which is responsible for ensuring that programming at GGP contributes to the successful integration of clients to life in Saskatoon. The Homework Help Facilitator fulfills GGP’s mission by supporting EAL (English as an Additional Language) students in Grades 4 through 8 with their homework, classroom assignments, test preparation and English activities. This assistance may be physically in the school, or on an on-line platform (i.e.: zoom). In addition, the Facilitator may be called upon to assist the program team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepares, provides, and reviews individual, small group, or classroom activities that maximize opportunities for the EAL students
- Works in small groups with the students offering individual support, assisting with each child’s unique needs, and introducing activities aimed at improving written and verbal English communications skills
- Engages and coordinates volunteers and guides them through the process of helping students
- Responds to queries related to homework assignments
- Models and reinforces literacy skills and good basic study skills
- Maintains a positive relationship and communicate regularly with EAL teachers on students’ academic needs
- Observes and tracks students’ progress and attendance
- Responsible for the logistics of the program such as pre-approved purchasing of snacks, supplies, and other necessary materials

**Qualifications**:

- A post-secondary degree in education or the humanities is preferred. However, applicants with experience teaching children while completing their education will also be considered
- Adaptable to helping children using the methods by which they have been taught
