**Job Purpose**
Men Like Me is a 30-week program funded by Women and Gender Equality (WAGE) to foster healthy mindsets, positive masculinity, and the prevention of Gender-Based Violence (GBV). The program empowers refugee and immigrant fathers through a peer-led model to become allies for their families and communities.
Men Like Me seeks a dedicated and passionate Program Facilitator to lead and support the program's initiatives. The Facilitator will play a critical role in recruiting, training, and engaging refugee, and newcomer immigrant fathers in the program, ensuring its success and impact. The Facilitator will conduct a 30-week training program for the participating fathers on father-led activity packages and male allyship.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
**Recruitment**:
- Actively reach out to promote our program and its benefits to potential participants.
- Identify and recruit 10-15 refugee and newcomer immigrant fathers to participate in the program.
**Training**:
- Attend the Male-Allyship training sessions.
- Attend the father-led parent-child activity package training sessions.
- Attend ETO data training.
**Community Engagement**:
- Organize and lead community engagement sessions with the participating fathers in group meetings every three weeks.
- Role-play the parent-child activity packages with fathers in group meetings
- Create a welcoming and safe space for open discussions and peer support.
**National Webinars**:
- Help organize webinars with the Mothers Matter Centre and White Ribbon
- Attend monthly national webinars and share key takeaways with the group.
- Encourage fathers to attend and participate in the webinars.
**Support Fathers' Engagement**:
- Inspire fathers to actively conduct the activities and exercises from the program with their children and within their families.
- Provide guidance, support, and resources to help fathers develop their skills and understanding of positive masculinity.
- Develop a clear understanding of male-allyship resource and father-led children activity package materials to answer questions related to program activities.
**Data Management and Feedback**:
- Enter program-related data into the ETO (Efforts to Outcomes) system in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Participate in evaluation activities, reflection, debrief and program meetings led by the Mothers Matter Centre
**Qualifications and Experiences**
- Must have participated in the Men Like Me program previously and be a father of a young child.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by refugee and immigrant families. Lived experience will be an asset.
- Must have completed high school. A college education will be an asset.
- Able to communicate proficiently in English. Having a second language shared with the program participants will be an asset.
- Experience in recruiting and facilitating/training groups will be an asset
- Ability to work independently and effectively.
- Outreach and linkages within communities to support recruitment of fathers in the project
- Valid Driver’s License
- Reliable transportation
**Required Licenses and/or Certifications**
- Criminal Occurrence Security Check - Must complete a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check in good standing and within three months prior to first day of employment.
