The Psychosocial Oncology Program at The Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre is seeking a skilled Clinical Research Assistant II to assist with a project focused on better understanding the psychological experience of individuals with advanced cancer who are receiving immunotherapy or targeted therapy, and other related projects.

Important responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Research ethics preparation and submission
- Working with IT to ensure online sites are organized according to study protocol
- Preparation, distribution, and collection of essential study documents, submitting important documentation, etc.
- Day-to-day recruitment, screening and consenting of participants
- Conducting structured interviews
- Monitoring and tracking participants’ progress and contacting participants as required
- Responding to participant queries
- Reviewing questionnaires for completeness and assisting participants in completing questionnaires, as necessary
- Database management and basic statistics
- Liaison with investigators and other research staff

**Basic Requirements (Education/Experience)**:

- 2 years of experience in a clinical research environment and a secondary diploma.
- Evidence of training certification in Tri-Council Policy Statement -2 (TCPS-2) and the International Council on Harmonisation - Good Clinical Practice Guidelines (ICH-GCP)
- Outstanding social and interpersonal skills and comfort working with cancer patients and their family members
- Superior coordination and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables and meet timelines
- Excellent working knowledge of computer software
- Data management skills
- Knowledge of basic statistics and data cleaning
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of data and protocol requirements

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Honours B.A. or B.Sc. in Psychology, or a comparable degree, from an accredited university
- Experience working with OHRI
- Experience with research ethics board submissions
- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
- Experience conducting semi-structured interviews
- Experience performing qualitative analysis of participant interviews
- Proficiency in speaking and comprehending French (A level)

**Contract Details**:
This is a 1-year part-time regular (14 hours/week) contract with the possibility of renewal

**Salary**: Min: $25.677/hr - Max: $30.248/hr
