We are looking for an impactful and dedicated
**Server Generalist - Linux **to support the Managed IT Services enterprise team and have a direct impact on our growth strategy through the delivery of an exceptional client experience.

**A Day in the Life**:

- Support in building, configuring, and administering Linux Red Hat Enterprise, as well as physical and virtual servers in a SAN and NAS environment
- Provide technical support to customers by handling systems-related issues through on-call telephone, virtual or on-site as needed
- Perform repairs, maintenance, and upgrades of existing systems using solutions in accordance with standard operating procedures within and outside of standard business hours
- Assist in supporting the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects
- Implement and document processes and procedures to ensure compliance with standard business practices
- Assist in the implementation of operational run books and project documentation
- Plan changes and operational improvements based on client needs
- Identify solutions and act as the key technical consultant or coordinate the involvement of other Long View resources to propose new technical requirements, projects, and strategies
- Participate in designing backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Participate in discussions to leverage existing and future technologies
- Document weekly any technical challenges encountered in Long View’s technical issues database

**What You Bring**:

- 3+ years of experience in designing, building, automating, administering, and monitoring Linux RedHat Servers
- 5+ years of operational management experience in enterprise Linux/Unix environments Experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Linux/Unix-based environments, including physical servers
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT or a related field of study
- Experience in managing Linux VM server resources, and the creation and deletion of VM snapshots
- Experience with Red Hat tools such as Satellite and Ansible
- Knowledge of fundamental concepts of distributed, complex enterprise deployments including networking, communication protocols, VLANs, multi-tiered environments, virtualization technologies, storage, hypervisors, routing, monitoring, storage connectivity, capacity planning, file systems, backups, load balancing, and firewalls
- Experience configuring virtual network interfaces, multi-pathing, and bonding
- Ability to produce effective documentation, solution proposals, implementation plans, problem resolution, and incident workarounds
- The customer-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt to multiple client environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
