As a Financial Analyst within Finning’s Mining FP&A team, you’ll be at the heart of strategic financial planning and performance management. Job Description:
Major Job Functions:
As a Financial Analyst within the FP&A team at Finning, you will play a key role in supporting strategic financial decision-making through detailed analysis, reporting, and forecasting.
- Your responsibilities will include:_

1. Financial Reporting & Insights:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with high accuracy.- Conduct variance analysis and provide clear, insightful commentary.- Support the development of executive-level presentations.- Prepare ad-hoc reports to support business needs

2. Forecasting & Budgeting:
- Collaborate with business units to build and maintain financial models.- Assist in annual budgeting and rolling forecasts aligned with strategic goals.- Ensure budget and forecast accuracy

3. Strategic Analysis & Business Support:
- Perform ad hoc analysis to evaluate business initiatives and investment opportunities.- Analyze data to identify trends and highlight actions to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

4. Data Integrity & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external standards (e.g., IFRS).- Ensure accurate recording of contract obligations

5. Tools & Technology:
- Leverage Advanced Excel, Microsoft Power Platform and financial systems (e.g INFOR/M3, BPC/AFO, DBS, OneStream, SAP) for reporting and analysis.- Continuously improve reporting tools and processes

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with regional finance teams and operational stakeholders.- Communicate complex financial concepts in a clear, actionable manner.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field- CPA, CFA, or progress toward designation is an asset- 3 - 7 years of experience in an analytical role in FP&A or Accounting- Experience in a large, complex organization preferred
