**Job Overview**
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Youth Basketball Development Coach to join our team. In this role, you will be working with the Lead Coach and tailoring practices to meet the philosophy and needs of the Lead Coaches vision for team development

**1. Skill Development**
- Design and implement team drills that the Lead or you see the team needs to work on
- Teach and refine fundamental basketball skills but not limited to:

- Ball handling
- Shooting mechanics
- Passing
- Footwork
- Defensive technique
- Introduce advanced skills progressively (e.g., pick-and-roll reads, shot fakes, off-ball movement).

**2. Physical Development & Conditioning**
- Incorporate age-appropriate strength, speed, agility, and endurance training.
- Emphasize injury prevention (e.g., warm-up routines, proper landing techniques).
- Coordinate with strength and conditioning staff, if applicable.

**3. Basketball IQ & Decision Making**
- Teach players to read defenses and make smart in-game decisions.
- Develop understanding of spacing, timing, and team concepts.
- Use video analysis or film review to highlight teachable moments.

**4. Mental & Emotional Development**
- Build confidence through achievable goals and positive reinforcement.
- Teach mental resilience, focus, and game composure.
- Encourage a growth mindset—emphasizing effort, learning, and improvement.

**5. Player Assessment & Progress Tracking**
- Conduct regular player evaluations and skill assessments.
- Develop individualized development plans (IDPs) with measurable goals.
- Track progress and adjust plans based on improvement and feedback.

**6. Collaboration**
- Work closely with head coaches and assistant coaches to align on player development goals.
- Communicate regularly with parents (especially in youth settings) to provide updates and guidance.
- Share insights that help coaches with team strategy and player utilization.

**7. Culture & Values**
- Promote discipline, sportsmanship, and respect on and off the court.
- Create an inclusive and supportive training environment.
- Encourage leadership and accountability in young athletes.

**8. Professional Growth**
- Stay current with coaching methods, drills, and athlete development trends.
- Attend clinics, workshops, or online training sessions to refine coaching techniques.
- Continuously evaluate and improve your own coaching effectiveness.

**Experience**
- Proven experience in a coaching or mentoring role is preferred.
- Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead group sessions effectively.
- Background in guest services or customer service is beneficial for understanding client needs.
- Experience with cash handling and basic math skills may be required for managing session payments or workshop fees.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse individuals.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
