**About the Opportunity**:
The Department of Medicine is a clinical academic department within Nova Scotia Health and Dalhousie University. Our mission is to improve health through education, research and the provision of clinical care. We strive to support research excellence and our researchers attract more than $16 million in research funding annually. More information about the Department can be found at dom.medicine.dal.ca. We also have an active Clinical Systems and Innovation Committee and Quality and Safety Committee who collaborate with our Research program to advance the care we give to the patients we serve and create a rich academic and clinical work environment for our physicians, learners and administrative staff.

Reporting to the Director of Administration, Department of Medicine, this role is an integral part of the central administrative supports of the Department of Medicine.

The R&I Administrative Coordinator is responsible to perform numerous complex and confidential assignments, with key responsibilities including:

- Serves as an initial contact/resource person for the Research Director & Chairs of Clinical Systems and Innovation and Quality, reviewing all incoming correspondence and inquiries;
- Coordinates activities of the Department’s Research, Quality & Clinical Systems and Innovation Committees;
- Works directly with researchers in the DOM to identify and facilitate researcher-specific funding opportunities;
- Drafts and updates policy, orientation documents as required;
- Liaises with the Nova Scotia Health Authority and Dalhousie University about various research, clinical innovation and quality administrative matters;
- Provides administrative support to DOM researchers and clinical and quality project leads as needed
- Coordinates annual funding competitions;
- Organizes productivity reviews of departmental researchers;
- Organizes events;
- Organizes the recruitment process for PhD researchers and Research Chairs joining the Department;
- Coordinates award competitions for research and quality.

**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Undergraduate degree or diploma from a recognized university or college and 3-5 years’ experience in an administrative role. An acceptable combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of a formal post-secondary qualification;
- A proven track record of superior organization and time management skills;
- Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills;
- Proficiency using MS Office, Outlook and Adobe;
- Minute taking experience required;
- Experience using Common CV software and experience in an academic healthcare facility and/or research administration would be assets;
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
