Visit us today and check out www.novascotia.com to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityThe Research Assistant contributes to a particular research study or division by assisting with study administration, by providing general administrative support and by maintaining study data.  40% Study/Clinical Trial Administration•    Completes Case Report Forms in conjunction with PI, Manager and/or Coordinator•    Processes & submits forms to Research Ethics Board (REB)•    Prepares specimens for shipment•    Contacts study subjects to book diagnostic/clinical tests, assessments & appointments•    Administers, scores & records results for study tests•    Assists with subject screening by accessing patient charts30% Administrative Support•    Acts as point of contact by providing information/direction when answering, screening & referring inquiries•    Replies to correspondence & composes/edits letters, documents, etc•    Orders & maintains supplies•    Attends, records & distributes minutes for meetings•    Faxes, photocopies, books rooms, catering & meetings, etc•    Coordinates incoming/outgoing mail & arranges for courier services•    Processes invoices & financial payments•    Acquires signatures for regulatory documents25% Data management•    Collects data related to study•    Develops/maintains filing systems for subject & study documentation•    Files study documents, test results, etc•    Develops/maintains methods of tracking information through databases & spreadsheets•    Enters, summarizes & analyses data using database/spreadsheets•    Archives documentation related to study, develops/maintains method of retrieval from storage5% Performs other related duties as requiredAbout YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following: Completed or currently enrolled in post-secondary education in a Health Science and/or Science related field requiredTwo years’ research related experience preferredMedical Terminology course preferredKnowledge of hematological disorders is an assetCCRP (Certified Clinical Research Professional) or CCRA (Certified Clinical Research Associate) an assetTCPS2: CORE Certification considered an assetTransportation of Dangerous Goods certification an assetExperience in data collection and data entry is an assetProficiency in MS Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint), email and internetProficiency with current NSHealth systems (STAR, PHS and/or LIS) an assetEffective communication, problem solving and decision making skillsAbility to draft, format and edit office correspondenceWell developed organizational, time management and daily planning skillsAbility to work well independently as well as within a multi-disciplinary team environmentPrevious experience in a health care/research setting is an assetCompetencies in other languages an asset, French preferred Please ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications.HoursLong Assitgnment, Full-Time / 75 Hours Bi-Weekly January 2026 to January 2027, approximately 12 monthsCompensation and Benefits$22.78 - $28.48 Hourly Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan. Once You've AppliedThank you for your interest in this position.
