Learning Design Specialist

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate multiple course developments
- Provide project updates to stakeholders
- Update and maintain project related documentation
- Identify and request resources
- Develop outcome-based learning content that aligns with provided course outcomes
- Collaborate with SMEs
- Assist in the development of deliverables and schedules
- Design learning delivery (concepts, skills, issues, activities, assessments etc.)
- Incorporates appropriate educational technologies
- Create instructor guides
- Ensure materials that are developed align with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and with NAIT standards
- Work with colleagues to ensure quality and consistency is being maintained
- Build course content developed into the current Learning Management System (LMS)

**Skills & Abilities**:

- Significant knowledge of instructional design and technologies, curriculum, and course development methods and research; and pedagogical and delivery practices in online/blended teaching and learning
- Knowledge of educational technologies and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Project management and technical skills
- Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in Education, Instructional Design or related education. A Masters degree is preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in adult learning and/or instructional design OR equivalent combination of formal education and experience
- Experience building courses in a Learning Management System (LMS)
- Experience working in a post-secondary environment is an asset

Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).

**Remuneration**: $71,098.04 - $95,372.94 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification - Advisor/Specialist ll).
- This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement._
