SUMMARY:
Reports to and works under the direction of the Manager, Financial Services. Performs accounting duties including,

but not limited to; accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cash receipts and banking. The Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely input/processing of a high volume of data to

help ensure the effective, efficient, and accurate financial operations of the district. Accurate, detailed, and

up-to-date records are an integral part of the district's ability to meet reporting requirements and to provide

internal decision-makers with necessary pertinent information.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful completion of a secondary school graduation program or equivalent, supplemented by one year of recognized accounting courses towards completion of first year of credentialed accounting program, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to work independently, quickly, accurately and exercise independent judgement.

Good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Ability to use judgement and tact when providing information.

Ability to focus and exhibit continuous concentration for long periods of time with frequent interruptions.

Ability to operate a variety of office equipment.

Physically capable of performing the duties of the position.

Knowledge of WCB and WHMIS regulations. Safe work practices.
