**Working for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology**
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is a Centre of Excellence in education, research and clinical care in women's health. The department has five academic divisions, 19 full-time academic faculty members, and over 100 clinical academic colleagues in general obstetrics and gynecology. Our faculty members encompass the full range of academic medicine including Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility, Gynecological Oncology, Reproductive Sciences and Urogynecology.
As part of the new Obstetrics and Gynecology AMHSP and support of the medical school expansion, we plan to recruit a clinician educator to support continuing professional development and the northern medical school expansion. OBGYN is a core part of the medical school training providing education in pre-clinical Repro block, 3rd year core clinical clerkship, surgery 556 selective in 4th year, and electives. We have 35 residents in core OBGYN PME training.
**Position**
Remuneration for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and based on the income scale of the six-step Academic Medicine and Health Services Program (AMHSP). Further details about this innovative funding plan are available on request.
**Duties**
- This position will actively participate in medical education and/or research. In addition to post-graduate residency training, the Department has commitments to education as a part of the MD Program with the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, providing pre-clinical and clinical teaching for core and elective experiences for undergraduate MD students.
- Continuing professional development for our faculty is key to this growth of our educational programs. and we are recruiting a clinician educator for the role of Continuing Professional Development Lead to support our teaching faculty.
