Academic Psychiatry and Health Service Program (AMHSP) – Assistant/Associate/Full Professor We invite applications for academic/tenured track positions at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full professor in Psychiatry, in partnership with Recovery Alberta. Candidates are psychiatrists with expertise in addictions, child–adolescent, forensic, community and/or geriatric psychiatry, and strong interest in medical education and/or research. About the University of Alberta and the Department of Psychiatry Located in Edmonton, Alberta, the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry is internationally recognized as among the world’s top 50 medical schools. The Department of Psychiatry is a leading academic center that integrates basic science and clinical research to advance mental health. We offer a robust residency training program and pre‑clinical and clinical teaching for MD students. About Recovery Alberta and AMHSP Recovery Alberta is the provincial agency delivering addictions and mental health services across Alberta. The AMHSP positions allow clinicians to combine a clinical career with protected time for education and/or research, embedded in all positions. Remuneration Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience based on the six‑step Academic Medicine and Health Services Program income scale. Responsibilities Provide clinical services in any of the listed subspecialty areas, and collaborate with primary care providers to develop services for rural and Indigenous communities. Deliver consultative, urgent care, and emergency care services outside of large centers. Actively participate in medical education and/or research, including mentorship of residents and undergraduate students. Engage in system‑based, team‑based delivery of care to reach communities and families outside of large centers. Qualifications Certified or eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons as a psychiatrist with subspecialty training and/or designation in child and adolescent psychiatry. Strong commitment to education and/or research; previous experience is an asset. Ability to perform up to 0.5 FTE for medical education or research; remaining FTE for clinical services with Recovery Alberta.
