Working with Richardson opens the door to a world of possibility. We currently have an opportunity for an Accounting Clerk to join our team located in our Winnipeg office. Reporting to the Controller - Food & Ingredients Canada, the Accounting Clerk handles all accounts receivable transactions, and serves as a primary point of contact for customers’ accounts payable departments. The clerk serves as a liaison between the account management department, sales team, credit department, finance and customers to ensure their accounts are in good order.
**Responsibilities**:
- Ensure all payments have been applied to invoices in a timely fashion with a high degree of accuracy- Match payments to the appropriate invoice as per the remittance advice- Validate all deductions received on customer payments via appropriate approval chain- Follow up with customers on past due invoices as per the credit policy- Escalate the collections process to the sales and credit departments as per the credit policy- Create and uphold positive working relationships with customers- Assist accounting department with ad hoc reporting requirements
Qualifications:
- Strong ability to work in an individual setting as well as a group/team setting- Excellent communication skills- Attention to detail and ability to handle large volumes of work- Proficient computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel
