Quality Control Coordinator Primary Discipline Mechanical Construction is responsible for the performance and oversite of all quality functions and duties as related to the construction of mechanical structures with bolted and or welding connections and is knowledgeable with applicable inspection procedures.

The position reports to the Project Quality Control Manager.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform surveillance / Inspections during fabrication and construction of, all associated assemblies in accordance with the applicable code of construction and/or customer specifications. Such inspections shall include but not be limited to:

- Collaboration and development Inspection Test Plans
- Receiving inspection and reviewing Material Test Reports
- Follow and maintain Inspection Work Packages / Inspection Test Plans.
- Perform Source Inspections, In-Process Inspections and Final Inspections.
- Complete or verify all associated documentation; Quality Control reports, sign-off on drawings, create as-built drawings, etc.
- Identifying and tracking of nonconformance reports and corrective/preventative action requests.
- Assist in developing Quality Procedures and Work Instructions for site projects.
- Meets with customers, suppliers, various regulatory representatives.
- Interacts with unionized work force

What we are looking for
- Education in welding technology or in QA/QC a related discipline at the University or College level or a minimum 3-year work experience in QA/QC role.
- W178 Level II Visual Weld inspection or other weld inspections certifications are highly considered.
- Sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals.
- Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment.
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Experience with Codes/Standards - CSA W59 - Welded Steel Construction, ASME B31.1, and B31.3 is considered an asset.
- CSA N299 or Z299 Quality Programs experience is considered an asset.
- Field experience and clearance at Nuclear Facilities is considered an asset.
