**Job Description**:
As an FCL Cartage Operator, you are responsible for all elements of the container delivery process from collection at the wharf to returning the empty you will ensure all government regulations are met and satisfied for road transport, whilst maintaining adherence to the company’s policies and procedures. You will own the timely completion of necessary documentation, actively communicate with parties involved, including other Expeditors staff, transport service providers, clients and delivery sites. You will continually seek opportunities for service enhancement and improved operational processes. Own the timely input of milestones and communications within specified timeframes in line with Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to provide visibility for your clients.
**Qualifications**:
- Previous experience with Ocean Freight Forwarding and Wharf Operations
- Good local geographical knowledge
- Knowledge of Government Road transport regulations
- General Mathematical and Accounting knowledge
Key Responsibilities
- ** Daily Processing**:You will monitor and manage daily work schedule of shipments through the process of pre arrival, discharge from vessel, collection from wharf, delivery and subsequent empty container return. Utilising inhouse visibility and workboards to manage the delivery process and ensure client satisfaction with their experience.
- ** Documentation**:It will be required to process necessary documentation timely and accurately to avoid delays and additional costs whilst maintaining exceptional customer service. Processing shipping line invoices for payment, reviewing and validating service provider invoices are imperative to maintaining strict financial control in the department. As is finalizing and dispatching final billings in line with client instructions and Expeditors internal KPI’s.
- ** Communication**: Effective communication with clients, transport service providers and other Expeditors staff is required. Communicating plans, changes and delays are critically important to the customer service of this role.
