**Job Purpose**:
Reporting to the Executive Facility Manager this role will be primarily responsible for ensuring that all plumbing systems are in superior working order and all related repairs are actioned in a timely manner across all Pearle Hospitality properties. Working at various properties each day, the Maintenance Plumber is a vital part of the overall maintenance team and will work collaboratively to ensure the flawless running of the day-to-day operations. Although the primary focus will be on plumbing systems, this role will also work to assist team members with other general maintenance duties as required.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Diagnose, install, and repair plumbing fixtures, pipes, and water drainage systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and plan in-house preventative maintenance programs.
- Ensure that local and provincial safety regulations are met and outline plans to replace any products or equipment that do not meet current safety regulations.
- Study and analyze blueprints and floor plans to understand the plumbing systems and water supply system layouts across all Pearle properties.
- Develop a layout of plumbing systems in existing & new buildings as needed.
- Navigate the assembly and installation of pipes and tubes without interfering with existing infrastructure.
- Assemble valves, fittings, tubes and water system appliances as needed.
- Install and maintain building water systems.
- Troubleshoot and fix issues relating to water supply lines.
- Schedule and instruct contractors if needed with approval and PO from Executive Maintenance Manager.
- Repair and replace system issues such as clogged drains, faucet problems, broken drainage lines.
- Create material lists and keep track of tools and time required for jobs across various properties.
- Assist with the scoping, estimating, planning and execution of new work or projects.
- Keep work van stocked, organized and clean to ensure efficiency in your role.
- Interact with team members, guests, business partners, and contractors in a professional manner.
- Maintain equipment in accordance with both legislative and recommended operating requirements.
- Support other general building maintenance duties as assigned.
- Maintain familiarity with building systems including but not limited to ERV/HRV units, HVAC units, water heating units, water cooling system, fire alarm system, electrical systems, exhaust timers.
- Will be available for on-call shifts as required within agreed upon schedule.
- 5+ years experience
- Residential and/or commercial experience
- Hotel experience preferred
- O.S.S.D.
- 306A Plumber Trade Certification
- Backflow Preventor Certification is an asset
- A valid G driver’s license
- WHMIS Certification
- Safety Certifications: First Aid/CPR, working at heights, aerial lifting, lock out/tag out, ladder safety, confined spaces
- Thrives in extremely fast paced and professional environment with a bias for action.
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
- Able to read drawings and blueprints.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
- Previous experience working within a budget for service calls, parts, inventory and labour.
- Builds open, collaborative relationships with team members and key property partners / customers.
