**Moby** is an independent fibre optic triple play telecommunications company that provides Internet | TV | Phone and related fibre optic services in major Alberta urban centres. We design, deploy and manage our own fibre optic infrastructure and are not a reseller of the incumbent carriers.
**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Design, setup and configure switches and routers to be deployed.
- Assist in the design of multi-server environment including IP address schemes, DNS, WINS, Ether-Channel (Bonding), etc.
- Configuring and installing client and server network software for upgrading and maintaining network and telecommunication systems.
- Maintaining the existing network infrastructure/core and provide improvements where necessary.
- Troubleshooting malfunctions of network hardware both in the field and in the office.
- You will be responsible for monitoring the company's telecommunications network to ensure that it is performing optimally. This may involve monitoring network traffic, server performance, and other key metrics.
- Responsible for designing, configuring, and maintaining different service offerings like Layer 2, point to point, Layer 3, VPLS, EVPL, etc.
- Work with Sales enterprise team to design and build customer solutions.
- Produce Link Engineering Report (LER) with regards to enterprise links using pathloss.
- Work with vendors for product information, pricing and support.
- Responsible for the core infrastructure piece with regards to the existing GPON/XGSPON network and Core Network Devices.
- Research and evaluate new products and services.
- Responsible for documentation of processes and network design.
- Design and test new services before going commercial.
- Ability to be On Call to respond to outages in the network.
**Requirements**:
- Strong understanding of Networking (IP, Subnetting), Switching (STP, RSTP, VSTP), MPLS and Routing (BGP, OSPF, RIP) protocols
- Knowledge of security systems such as firewalls, VPNs and IDS/IPS
- Strong understanding of the OSI model and TCP/IP protocol stack
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter and ability to take ownership of work.
- Knowledge of any programming or scripting language such as python, ansible, etc.
- CCNP or equivalent, CCIE certification preferred.
- Nice to have knowledge of servers and VM Ware
- Nice to have knowledge of Wired access technologies (GPON/XGSPON, HFC, GFAST, Active Ethernet, etc.) and Microwave (wireless).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a small business environment.
- Excellent teamwork
- Willingness to learn new technologies.
**Qualifications**:
- 5 - 7 years’ experience working in networking environment with a background in telecommunications.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer engineering or telecommunications
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Strong initiative and problem-solving skills
**Physical Demands**:
This job may require the NOC Analyst to sit or stand for extended periods, use a computer for extended periods, and lift to 50 pounds.
**Working Conditions**:
The NOC Analyst will work in an office environment and may be required to work on-call or outside of normal business hours.
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
