The Network NOC resource will participate and assist in monitoring and troubleshooting within client's network, rack and cable efforts within the on-premises data center, assist with vendor coordination of WAN circuits.

Responsibilities

  • Work within a remote team Responsibility for day-to-day operations of the TCE environments located in Calgary, Houston, Charleston West Virginia, and field locations through USA, Canada, and Mexico.
  • Monitor the network events using the network monitoring and management tools
  • Correlate events to identify root cause.
  • Escalate to higher level teams as needed.
  • Facilitate vendor coordination for circuit troubleshooting.
  • Facilitate requests for network changes for WAN circuits, on premise data center network changes, routers, switches, VPN's.
  • Support implementation and configuration of new network environments for TCE projects
  • Assist in troubleshooting efforts for infrastructure issues within the TCE Network estate
  • Assist with procurement, tracking, and distribution of Network Hardware
  • Hands on troubleshooting
  • Assist other teams with troubleshooting at various different levels.
  • Update CMDB with accurate CI information
  • Provide Network related reports as requested.
  • Interact with WAN vendors to ensure resolution of issues, SLA compliance, and maintenance.
  • Comply with all SLAs associated with the TCE Data Network

Qualifications
Qualifications:

Education:

  • Diploma in Computer Science certification completed or ongoing.

Work Experience:

  • One year in networking technologies and operations
  • Basic Knowledge of DC Network equipment
  • Basic Knowledge of LAN Network equipment
  • Basic Knowledge of WAN network equipment

Work Requirements:

  • Position based at Calgary TCE location.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Some Understanding of networking infrastructure (routers, switches)
  • Exposure to VoIP solutions and capabilities
  • Efficient problem-solving skills.
  • Some Understanding of Network tools, Solarwinds, What's Up Gold, NetScout etc.
  • Good Understanding of WAN technologies
  • Practical Understanding of Cisco technologies and uses.
