**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Act as a safety champion - promote a positive safety culture at all levels of the company, specifically in the field
- Support site supervision with implementation and management of the Mainland HSE Program
- Monitor the HSE programs at various sites to ensure consistency with procedures, legislative requirements and the site-specific plan. This will involve visiting each site weekly and working with site teams to address safety issues and non-conformance to the program
- Assist with safety inspections, toolbox talks and completing hazard assessments on processes and individual projects
- Assist supervisors with accident, incident and near-miss investigations, to ensure root cause analysis and corrective actions are identified and effective
- Conduct new employee and sub-contractor safety orientations
- Train workers on the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including fit testing of respirators for workers
- Organize and participate in emergency response drills
- Assist to identify problem areas and collect information to make recommendations for remedial action
- Assist in the planning and start-up of new projects with respect to site-specific HSE plans
- Participate in and coordinate HSE initiatives on job sites and at the corporate level
- Participate in the continuous improvement of the HSE Program
- Generate and/or maintain statistics
- Will visit multiple sites
