We are seeking a passionate and dedicated **Cook** to join our team at the Shady Rest in Qualicum Beach. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and safety. If you're enthusiastic about cooking and enjoy working in a collaborative kitchen environment, we'd love to have you as part of our team. On top of our competitive wage and benefits, we are also offering an additional gas subsidy to those commuting from outside the Parksville/Qualicum region who would like to join our team

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with restaurant recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared and served promptly and at the correct temperature.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe kitchen environment.
- Work with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen.
- Assist in inventory management and ensure all ingredients are well-stocked.
- Monitor food prep and cooking stations to ensure quality control and consistency.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience as a cook or in a food service environment preferred.
- Knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
- A passion for food and a strong desire to provide great customer service.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
