Our client has been in operation for over 20 years. and is seeking an experienced **Financial Controller** with 7+ years’ experience. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing financial policies and internal controls, track and report accurate and timely company financial information, preparation and coordination of company budgets and forecasts, and provide guidance and make recommendations regarding financial decisions relevant to the company. These responsibilities are required to manage additional related companies.

Your primary responsibilities will include but not limited to:

- Month and Year End closing
- Prepare financial statements (Income statements, Balance sheet, Cash flow statements) and supporting documentation
- Ensure that accurate and timely financial information and reports are provided to the executive team to facilitate decision making
- GL code maintenance as required
- Prepare and review bank account reconciliations to ensure transactions are correct, reported and posted as per the bank statements
- Establish controls to reduce the likelihood of theft and erosion, assessing regularly for gaps and identifying improvements needed
- Manage relationships with banks, external accountants, insurance etc.
- Approve payroll payment on a bi-weekly basis, sign cheques, approve wire payments
- Provide required documentation for audits as needed
- Prepare annual budgets and strategies for efficient allocation and use of resources
- Assist in the preparation of forecasts, and support with ongoing updates to forecast demands
- Support sales team to update price lists and uploading new pricing into SAP
- Maintain accurate records of costing analysis for each item, keeping track of all associated costs, pricing and profitability margins
- Manage the accounting team and oversee the flow of work to staff
- Oversee the hiring, performance management, and development of direct reports
- Trouble shoot daily for any issues that arise
- Manage third party vendor relationships, acting as a key liaison.

The skills and qualifications that will make you successful in this role include, but not limited to:

- Proven work experience in accounting with a solid understanding of applicable laws and regulations, financial data analysis and reporting
- Working knowledge of payroll, AP and AR functions, and cash literacy is a must
- Ability to deliver quality work with strong organizational and priority setting skills
- Strong command of the English language to communicate effectively with employees, management, bank, government agencies, etc.
- Manage multiple job tasks to meet required deadlines; work well under pressure
- Proficient MS Office skills (Word/Excel); ability to learn and adapt to industry specific software
- Experience working with a production-based company would be an asset.
