Electrical Technician

Established in 1919, Fort Garry Fire Trucks is Canada’s leading manufacturer of quality fire trucks. Fort Garry Fire Trucks is looking to hire a full-time Electrical Technician. As an Electrical Technician at Fort Garry Fire Trucks you will be part of the manufacturing team responsible for reading and interpreting work orders and installing harnesses and detail components such as lighting and electrical panels on fire trucks, water trucks and septic trucks.
**Applicant Requirements**:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience
- Secondary or post-secondary automotive electrical education
- Fluent spoken and written English and good interpersonal communication skills
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds individually or 100 pounds with assistance
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Proficient using a tape measure
- Knowledge of 12V electronic components and electronic diagnostic equipment
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting basic drawings and schematics
- Experience following work orders to complete installations
- Good understanding of electrical components
- Capable of drilling and tapping holes in specific locations
- Experience installing harnesses, lighting, and panels
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Reliable transportation, bussing is not available at our location
**Assets**: Preference will be given to qualified applicants who are available to work both the day shift 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the evening shift 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
