**Graphic Design & Marketing Communications Assistant**

Reports To: Marketing Manager
Role Description: As a team member with RUNVAN®, the Graphic Designer & Marketing Communication role assists with a variety of projects including graphic design, social media and communications. This role is a great opportunity to build your portfolio and contribute to a wide range of marketing material. Experienced contractors are also welcomed to apply.

Inspiring active, healthy lifestyles, the non-profit Vancouver International Marathon Society RUNVAN® annually organizes the First Half, BMO Vancouver Marathon, Jerome Classic, Granville Island Turkey Trot and Great Trek. All creative is designed in-house. The team attracts over 30,000 runners and relies on nearly 3,000 volunteers annually.

Core Responsibilities:
Creative, Graphic Designer (30%)
- Creates new logos, merchandise, print and outdoor ads
- Produces signage, sponsorship and expo sales material
- Creates maps, posters and other creative as required

Marketing Communications (30%)
- Engages across social media and writes clever copy
- Creates e-news with HTML, and writes press releases
- Updates webpages and analytics

Social, Video Editor (30%)
- Edits video in Premiere Pro for ads and social media
- Files photo and video content
- Contributes to storyboard ideation and creates content

Brand Management (10%)
- Adheres to brand standards, including graphics, language, tone and personality
- Creates branded communications and marketing tools
- Work with partners to ensure brand standards are understood and upheld
Education and Work Experience:

- Post-secondary studies in Graphic Design and/or Marketing
- At least 1 year relevant experience
- An online portfolio is required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Outstanding creativity and technical skills
- Proficiency with Creative Cloud including Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere Pro
- Proficiency with HTML
- Knowledge of brand management
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Enthusiastic, well organized and a self-starter
- Ability to work effectively with other team members and function independently
- Ability to adapt in a changing environment and cope in a demanding environment

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
