**Salary**: Grade IV, $84,649.92 - $111,234.40 annually
**Position Description**:
**Purpose**
Under the direction of the Manager, Psychological Services, the Team Leader facilitates the delivery of quality psychological services to the CBE. The job also provides support to the CBE through the provision of psychological services.
**Accountability**
The Team Leader is accountable for supporting the direction of the Manager, Psychological Services in continuous improvement and development of the Psychological Services team and quality assurance of psychological service delivery to the CBE through:
- Helping set and promote standards and consistency of professional practices and processes;
- Supporting staff members in achieving standards of practice and professional improvement goals; and
- Focusing on evidence-based decision-making for evaluation of and monitoring of service delivery.
**Major Responsibilities**
- Assists the Manager, Psychological Services in providing leadership, direction and support to team members.
- Identifies need for and establishes standards of practice, guidelines, forms, and other documentation.
- Coaches, mentors and provides clinical consultation and support of professional skills for team members.
- Supports team members in achieving goals set in professional improvement plans, identifying required training and opportunities for growth and skill development.
- Identifies and coordinates access to the materials and resources required for the provision of quality psychological services.
- Analyzes and prepares reports on data relating to the effectiveness of service delivery within the Psychological Services team.
- Represents psychology in selected committee work within the psychology team, the CBE and the community.
- Develops and maintains a high level of knowledge and awareness of current theory and practice related to meeting the learning and behaviour needs of exceptional learners.
- Updates information on Psychological Services or information related to psychological services within the CBE and to the public (e.g. websites, system memos, guidelines, etc.)
- Provides a limited amount of direct psychological services (assessment, consultation and/or counselling) as directed by the Manager.
- Performing other related duties as assigned to meet the purpose and accountability of the role.
**Qualifications**
**Education and Experience**
- At least 5 years as a Registered Psychologist in good standing in the Province of Alberta
- Current continuous employee of the Psychological Services Team, who has completed the probationary period
- The following will be viewed as an asset:
- Competency and current experience in both assessment and counselling
- Previous leadership experience within the field of psychology
- Previous experience with coaching and mentoring within the field of psychology
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel, Power Point Outlook)
- Proficiency with research and data analysis
**Demonstrated Skills and Competencies**
- Commitment to a high standard of Psychological practice;
- Current in knowledge and skills in provision of psychological services
- Knowledge of College of Alberta Psychologists, Alberta Education and Calgary Board of Education standards; regulations and guidelines related to the provision of Psychological services;
- Demonstrated leadership capability
- Ability to work with a minimum of supervision
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to be innovative and solve problems systematically
