**About this opportunity**

Are you an experienced regulated health professional with a **mental health background** and interested in the areas of crisis intervention and support for **post-secondary students**? CBI Workplace Solutions is seeking a registered RPN, SSW and/or OT for a placement within a **North Bay** post-secondary institution as a Triage Navigator.

Student Success Services develops and implements individualized academic accommodation plans for students with disabilities, based on individual assessments. The Triage Navigator is students’ first point of contact to the multidisciplinary team to support students’ learning, mental health and wellness to ensure the provision of holistic support to students. The position requires a service-focused professional who treats others with respect, values their time, strives for personal best, and collaborates to continuously improve the student experience.

**Take an inside look at what you’ll do each day**
- Ensure students are informed of services and supports around, on and off campus
- Foster and develop strong, respectful and mutually beneficial partnerships to facilitate the seamless referrals of students between resources and support
- Provide workshops/events/groups to support to special populations of students (e.g. international students, at-risk students) to promote a successful transition to campus and foster positive academic and life experiences during their academic careers
- Complete and review internal intake form with student for registration. Document, maintain files and provide supports meeting confidentiality and privacy, as per PHIPA guidelines
- Assess mental health status of student and conduct suicide risk screening
- Engage in solution-focused conversations with students as they present
- Complete Student Success Profile to outline student accommodations as per the Human Right Code of Canada (medical and temporary)
- Request information from students’ family physicians as needed and facilitate community referrals for therapy, as requested by student
- Schedule and facilitate TeleMedicine appointments
- Attend after hours activities to support College enrollment (Open House) and follow up directly with prospective students as needed/requested to promote services offered
- Administrative duties, as required

**What you need to be successful**
- Completion of post-secondary education with a recognized college or university
- Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience
- Knowledge of mental health system and community resources
- Familiar with variety of mental health disabilities to ensure appropriate referrals and coordination of services
- Ability to plan and facilitate workshops and speak to large groups of people
- Be comfortable in collaborating and communicating within an interdisciplinary team
- Knowledge in Indigenous culture including attention to mental health and wellness preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required to write support letters and other documents to advocate for students
- High level of multi-tasking required and excellent organizational ability to manage competing priorities under time restraints
