We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our finance team. **Duties**
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing using platforms such as Workday and ADP, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on schedule.
- Perform data entry and maintain meticulous records related to employee hours, benefits, taxes, and deductions within various payroll systems.
- Reconcile payroll accounts regularly, including general ledger accounts, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Process journal entries related to payroll expenses, benefits administration, and tax filings with precision and adherence to financial standards.
- Collaborate with HRIS systems like PeopleSoft or Kronos to update employee information, track time and attendance, and manage benefits data.
- Conduct account reconciliations for payroll-related accounts, ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulations.
- Assist with non-profit accounting procedures when applicable, including tracking grants or funding allocations related to payroll expenses.
- Support tax compliance activities by preparing reports for tax filings and ensuring proper deductions are applied in accordance with governmental regulations.
- Contribute to internal audits by providing detailed reports on payroll transactions and account activity.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all payroll processes, updates, and adjustments for audit readiness.

**Qualifications**
- Proven experience managing payroll using systems such as Workday and ADP is essential.
- Strong understanding of payroll management principles combined with knowledge of accounting software like QuickBooks or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Experience working within human resources systems (HRIS) and benefits administration tools is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of governmental accounting standards and tax regulations related to payroll processing is a plus.
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to perform account reconciliation and data analysis efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail coupled with exceptional organizational skills for accurate data entry and record keeping.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings clearly across teams.
