**Position Description Summary**:
Vision Dominion is looking for a Quality Inspector to be part of the excellent group focused on customer satisfaction.

The position of Quality Inspector is directly accountable to the Quality Manager for driving results that contribute to the Company’s success in the following key business areas: Safety, Quality and Delivery. This position is responsible for conducting quality control inspections, ensuring the product meets requirements.

**Position Requirements**:

- High School diploma is a must. Post
- Secondary education in technical field is preferred.
- Demonstrated competence in quality control Inspection, testing to meet the standard requirements.
- Read blueprint and specification.
- Able to communicate in English effectively (read, write, verbal and listening comprehension).
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Able to use measurement tools (measuring tape, caliper, etc.) in both Imperial and Metric as well as different calibration tools.
- Good vision for quality inspection including ability to distinguish between colours.
- Self-starter who is able to achieve customer satisfaction by meeting commitments and taking accountability; being willing to cross-train to gain additional skills and use job knowledge; and taking a common-sense approach to problem-solving.
- Must work well under pressure; able to work productively both independently and on a team to meet deadlines.
- Able to make decisions.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. /23 kgs.
- Customer-oriented attitude with a strong commitment to safety and quality.

**Working Hours**:
The facility works on a schedule of an eight (8) hour rotating shift format, 7 days per week and rotates monthly. **Employees in this position will be required to work 6 of the 7 days.** Given the nature of our business and due to customer needs, alternate hours may be required.

**Job-specific tasks**:

- Perform quality control tests and record results (weight tolerance; colour scan; weatherability/heat resistance; shrinkage; screwable resistance strength; profile PLV scan; impact test resistance.
- Calibrate equipment and record results (caliper, square, measuring tape, variable height impact tester, timer, thermometer).
- Perform all required quality assurance procedures including drawings control; creating daily, monthly quality summary reports; and inspection and decision taking on quarantine products for shipments.
- Inspect packaging including labels and packaged product to ensure product is as per specification.
- Perform visual quality control checks including checking finish, if product is straight, square, and correct in colour, record results.
- Perform dimension quality control checks to ensure product meets specifications by using calipers; performing flex tests; comparing product to drawings; performing Go/No Go tests; and any other quality control tests as required, and recording results.
- Complete production reports (machine speed, number of pieces produced).
- Review work/production order, including special instructions.
- Prepare material by identifying material by colour.
- Perform housekeeping by keeping work area clean and free of hazards; participate in PVC recovery program
- Train other employees, as assigned.
