Adventurers Child Care Centre is looking for a casual/on call Cook We would love to find someone who is positive, team oriented, has above average cleanliness, enjoys cooking for large groups of children, has great attention to detail and is a hard worker.

The position is for up to 35 hours per week: Monday-Friday. Hours could be a mix of kitchen and classroom support.

**Responsibilities**:

- Plan and prepare all meals and snacks for the children at the center, following the Centre’s approved menu and recipes
- Maintain open communication between staff regarding food allergies and nutritional needs of the children
- Provide appropriate potions of food for the children and teachers in each class.
- Create shopping list for weekly purchases.
- Ensure proper food rotation and food handling practices are met.
- Maintain inventory of food and kitchen supplies, as well as cleaning supplies
- Unload and organize supplies when delivered to the centre, i.e. putting away groceries
- Daily cleaning of kitchen area, complete cleaning as per cleaning chart (daily, weekly monthly).
- Cleaning of all meal dishes, wash and sanitize (industrial dishwasher)
- Provide classroom support where needed.
- Maintain a current Child Abuse Register Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, First Aid Certification and Food Handlers training.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

- Baking experience an asset
- Classroom support
- Work as substitute teacher.

Working Conditions
- Must have ability to stand for long hours, and to tolerate high and low temperatures. Carry loads of up to 50lbs.

**Salary**: From $15.50 per hour
