This posting is for one (1) current vacancy.
This position will be based out of either the St. Thomas or Woodstock site with direct reports at both facilities.
Reporting to the Director, the Program Manager provides direct public health leadership to a multi-disciplinary team of professionals and support staff at Southwestern Public Health (SWPH).
Working collaboratively with staff and community partners to achieve the program goals and objectives of SWPH, the Program Manager applies their expertise to support implementation of programs and services that meet the requirements of applicable public health guidance, standards, accountability agreements, and applicable legislation.
The Program Manager provides direct staff supervision and leads the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of assigned programs and services. This position assists in the development of policy as well as the management and administrative areas associated with the overall functioning of the public health programs and services within the manager's area.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
EDUCATION
- Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a related public health or health administration field of study, with knowledge of theory and practice of public health.
- Current registration or eligible for registration with a Regulated Health Professional College or regulatory body as recognized in the province of Ontario.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of three (3) years of prior health care experience either in a clinical leadership or managerial leadership role, leading change, innovation, and program success.
- Extensive knowledge in public health protection theory and strategies, as well as program and case management / evaluation.
- Working knowledge of public health protection issues, trends and legislations to understand program specific services (i.e.. Health Protection & Promotion Act).
- Effective leadership attributes to manage, motivate and develop interpersonal relationships with peers and individuals reporting to the position.
- Knowledge and ability to participate in budget development and implementation.

Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills including group presentation skills.

- Excellent level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
- Superior organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills.
- Ability to handle many tasks and issues within a narrow span of time.
- Proven ability to be a team player.
- This leadership includes providing guidance and consultation for front line employees.
- Ability to work collaboratively, both internally and externally.
- Ability to motivate, empower and coach employees in order to effectively deliver exceptional client services.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, plan, communicate, implement, and evaluate program related work to ensure successful delivery of services.
- Commitment to safety by fostering a safe working culture at SWPH
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Valid Ontario Driver’s license and access to a reliable insured vehicle
- Must comply with the current Ontario Public Health Standards
- Ability to work flexible hours as required
- Adherence to SWPH’s policies and procedures
Terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Employment Agreement.
**Salary Range**: $68.04/hr to $76.54/hr (70 hours in a two-week period).
Will receive vacation pay each pay period as well as pay in lieu of benefits following successful completion of the probationary period. Offered enrollment in the OMERS pension plan (if enrolled, in lieu benefits will reduce).
**Immunization Requirements**: Fully vaccinated against COVID-19, are able to provide proof of immunization, and acknowledgement to follow Southwestern Public Health's policies and processes related to COVID-19 management in the workplace.
