NATURE OF WORK

This position is responsible for providing advice and support teachers and managers of the SAES in the implementation, development, and evaluation of programs of study, class management and instructional materials

CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS

Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of policies/guidelines/rules related to learning and teaching, educational project and the adult student success plan.

Performs duties relative to the implementation of General Education, Common Core Basic Education, Socio-vocational and Socio-Integration programs, and Literacy and Preparatory programs. Provides advice to the teachers and SAES managers concerning the interpretation of those programs, designs and leads training workshops and sessions on program components.

Develops and delivers training and instrumentation activities designed to respond to the needs in pedagogical adaptation, innovation, and development.

Assists teachers in the design, preparation or adaptation of tools for evaluating learning using current trends in adult education theory of practice.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate specialty, notably Education or Adult Education.

At least 15 years of experience in teaching in School Boards is required, especially in the adult education sector.

At least 10 years of teaching experience in Eeyou Istchee is essential.

Experience in design of programs for distance learning.

Brevet issued by the Ministry of Education of Quebec is an asset.

Information technology and common software user.

Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.

Fluency in French and English is required.

Knowledge of the Cree Language is an asset.

High level of autonomy and excellent communication skills.

Must have excellent organizational skills and must also show initiative in daily tasks.

Knowledge of Charlemagne and Jade-Tosca software are an asset.

Available to travel.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

Regular full-time position

35 hours/week

This position needs travelling in each community during the regular school year.
