We are currently seeking a **Maintenance Technician** to join our Hotel and Residence opening Team.

**Maintenance Technician**

We are seeking an individual who is Handy, has basic, plumbing, electrical and mechanical knowledge, to maintain a brand new building.

A keen attention to detail and a passion for providing the highest levels of service. The Maintenance Technician must be highly organized and have strong communication skills and understand building operations.

**Maintenance Technician**

Provides maintenance support and service to the hotel and surrounding facilities; carries out basic plumbing, heating and electrical repairs and assigned projects from the Maintenance Manager and Director of Engineering.

**Role and Responsibilities**
- _ To ensure the proper functioning of all guestrooms and hotel facilities serving the comfort and safety of guests._
- _ To ensure timely response and action at emergencies (fire alarm, water damage and electrical power failures) during the shift._
- _ Assemble furniture and equipment for guestrooms and various departments as required in preparation for the hotel opening._
- _ Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, or machines including cleaning, and visual inspections_
- _ Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment_
- _ Perform minor repairs such as patching drywall, plunging toilets, replacing batteries or fuses etc._
- _ Perform equipment readings, meter readings and maintain logs_
- _ Perform routine repairs and assist engineers on major repairs of all hotel equipment including small appliances, laundry equipment, boilers, plumbing, pool equipment, HVAC, hand and power tools_
- _ Address and respond to guest’s service needs, including guest calls in a professional, positive, and timely manner_
- _ Welcome and acknowledge each and every guest with a smile, eye contact and a friendly verbal greeting using the guests’ names when possible_
- _ Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program_
- _ Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required_
- _ Employee will be required to do heavy lifting and climbing of ladders/stairs into confined spaces._
- _ Other duties as assigned_

**Qualifications**
- Preferred Qualification: Technical, Trade or Vocational School Degree.
- Hotel Opening experience an asset
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Hotel or related industry; preferably within a luxury environment.
- Good working knowledge in Microsoft office. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
