**Role Responsibilities**:
Join a high-impact team that sets the standard for road safety and regulatory excellence in Alberta’s commercial transportation sector. The Driver, Carrier and Vehicle Services Branch is seeking a detail-oriented, client-focused NSC Program Specialist to support Alberta’s commercial carrier industry. Your key responsibilities include:
- Managing the issuance and renewal of Safety Fitness Certificates (SFC) and pre-entry programs for commercial carriers
- Investigating potential chameleon carriers and identifying applicants with a history of non-compliance
- Issuing or updating safety ratings and conditions based on compliance history and program standards
- Processing amendment requests and maintaining accurate records across multiple systems
- Interpreting and communicating complex policies to stakeholders in accessible, plain language
- Supporting carriers in navigating online systems and resolving technical or procedural issues
- Monitoring trends, identifying system or policy gaps, and recommending improvements to enhance program delivery

**Qualifications**:
Required:
- A high school diploma and a minimum of three (3) years of related experience. Equivalencies may be considered.
- Cover letter detailing how your skills and experience align with the role's responsibilities, used to assess writing and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Demonstrated customer service experience
- Strong administrative skills, including accurate record-keeping, document processing, and data entry
- Experience in regulatory compliance, policy interpretation, or program administration
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- In-depth knowledge of the MOVES system
Equivalencies are:
- A related two-year diploma and a minimum of one (1) years of related experience; a related one-year certificate and a minimum of two (2) years of related experience; or a related university degree and no related experience.

- We have two permanent, full-time positions available, working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday (8:15 am - 4:30 pm).
