Part-time - 2024-2025 Season - Winter and Spring Sessions
The Guelph Marlin Aquatic Club is seeking multiple Part-Time Swim Lessons Instructors for our learn to swim program. This position will consist of in-water instructing 2-15 hours per week, depending on your availability. GMAC is a Not-for-Profit swim club that has between 1100-1500 swimmers registered throughout the fall, winter, spring, and June sessions.
Seeking enthusiastic instructors
**Responsibilities**:
- Must be available to instruct after school/evenings and/or Sundays available for the beginning of January until early March for the winter session (depending on the day of the week) and optimistically to continue on for the Spring session starting after March break.
- **Available shifts: Mondays Jan 6th - March 3rd 4-6pm UofG, Tuesdays Jan 7th - March 4th 5-8pm VD pool, Wednesdays Jan 8th - March 5th 4-6pm VD pool, Fridays 6-8pm Jan 10th - Feb 28th VD pool, and Sundays Jan 12th - March 2nd 8am-1:45pm VD pool**:

- And if interested continue on for Spring Session
- Work with developmental group/learn to swim swimmers from age 3 to 14
- Instruct swimmers on proper swimming technique as per criteria set out by group
- Create positive fun environment encouraging swimmers passion for the sport of swimming
- Establish positive professional relationship with swimmers, parents and other coaches
- Preforms other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- NCCP skills coach ( previously level 1) an asset but not necessary
- City Instructor certification - an asset but not necessary
- All certifications are current and in good standing with or willingness to train in order to hold position.
- Has knowledge of technical and training aspects of competitive swimming.
- Ability to communicate with swimmers, staff and parents is a professional manner
- Ability to work independently and in team environment
- Must pass all appropriate background checks
- Be a positive and enthusiastic role model
Experience in competitive swimming/coaching/instructing/lessons preferred Training can be provided in order to receive proper status for coaching.
Part-time, Temporary
$19.00/hour for regular instructors, $20/hour for those with NCCP 1
**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2-2.5 months
Part-time hours: 2-13 hours/week
Guelph, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
